Misty Ridge Construction was Born out of a Desire to Build with Integrity and Utilize Newer Construction Techniques.
I’ll never forget the day that sparked my burning desire to build homes. My father in law tasked me with the construction of a simple shed in the back yard. He gave me the plans that were printed on an 8.5 x 11 piece of paper and said that I could build it however I liked but it needed to look like the picture when I was done.
This seemed like an easy one at first glance, but after many periodic check-ins and hints from my father-in-law, and a long day of discovering concepts such as ‘level’, ‘plumb’ and ‘measure twice, cut once’, I had torn the shed apart and rebuilt it 4 times before finally getting it correct.
As the Alaska sun was setting (midnight), I looked back on the process and was admiring my hard work and the lessons that I learned along the way. If you start from square, plumb, level and your line is true then the building process comes together and fits nicely on the foundation that you have created. It was on this foundation that I built Misty Ridge Construction.
As a family run business, We strive to start correctly with building principles as our guide and knowledge from experience as our map. At the end of the project, we want the homeowner to be happy and our crew to feel good about the job done.
